“We spent three weeks in Myanmar and Thailand with Terry and Asia Film Fixers’ team producing episodes of Gem Hunt for the US Travel Channel. Every step of the way he and his guys were a step ahead of our needs. When we made up curly and difficult demands just to stump him, he delivered. Myanmar is notorious for government intervention, and Thailand had us red-flagged as trouble makers, but with Terry and his team working with us those government agencies, made things easier, not harder. And best of all Terry melded into the crew in a matter of hours and it felt like he had already been on the road with us for years. He knows when to stay silent and when to crack open a beer at the end of the day. You don’t have to roll the dice when looking for a fixer in SE Asia because Terry and his team have the whole place covered with a few other countries thrown in to boot. It’s a one-stop shop for all your SE Asian production set-up.”

Modern Television recently worked with Asia Film Fixers on a BBC documentary featuring the British personality Griff Rhys-Jones, as he retraced his late father’s journey during World War 2 in which his father served as a young medical officer in the Burma Campaign. The documentary was directed by Ruairi Fallon, an experienced director with credits including Who Do You Think You Are (BBC), Divine Women (BBC), and documentaries for Channel 4, Discovery and National Geographic.
Terry worked tirelessly to arrange for Modern to secure permissions and visas to film in Myanmar and also ensured that the shooting schedule we requested was put in place and that the filming ran smoothly. The shoot was complicated because we were taking the crew, a paramedic and a 90 year old veteran of the Burma Campaign to various locations throughout Burma including a remote village with few amenities. Terry ensured that the crew was as comfortable as possible, that all necessary props were available and that the crew of eight and the equipment were transported to each location on time with sufficient numbers of vehicles, interpreters and guides. The crew has been traveling back from Myanmar to the UK today and have been glowing in their reports on Terry’s organization and logistical management of the shoot.
Terry is a calm presence on location and finds solutions to the problems that inevitably arise during a shoot. His background in the military and also in tourism gives him a can do attitude towards ensuring the success of the shoot without taking unacceptable risks. Although he is often on the road, he is generally easy to contact and always responds to emails and messages in a timely manner. He oversaw the filming and ensured that all our needs were addressed and carried out.
